Breakfast with the Bison has become one of our most popular member events, and its new location at the Bison Viewing Deck gives attendees a spectacular view of the bison herd. On September 16, members once again returned to the deck to hear a special talk about bison and their relationship to the Indigenous People of the area.

Thirty attendees enjoyed a hot breakfast high above the bison as they listened to Jumano Nation member and Texas Christian University Professor Dr. Jacqui Haynes speak about the history of the bison as they relate to the Jumano/Jumano Apache.

Jacqui educated attendees with many interesting family stories regarding the bison and other wildlife. At the end of her talk, she offered a blessing for the bison and asked participants to stand and join her.

The beautiful blessing was the perfect ending to the event.
