How Our Volunteers Make a Difference
In 2016, 242 individual volunteers donated a total of 5,104 hours to the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge. Also in 2016, Marsha McLaughlin achieved an impressive milestone of more than 7,000 hours as a volunteer over a span of two decades! And this past summer, Texas A&M intern Michelle Luster volunteered 415 hours with the Natural Guard and other projects around the Nature Center. Volunteers support the Nature Center in a variety of ways: docent, Natural Guard, greenhouse, wildlife ambassador caretaker, and more. Consider being part of this amazing core of volunteers who help make the Nature Center a memorable place for visitors of all ages to experience and enjoy!

Spending time with people who love nature creates priceless experiences; sharing a mission with them generates exceptional satisfaction. Both are benefits of Friends membership. This award-winning organization is a strategic force in keeping the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge an exciting and innovative place to visit in our fair city.

To preserve, protect, and conserve in perpetuity the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge.
