Breakfast with the Bison made a return to the Nature Center on May 20 in a highly anticipated move to the new Bison Viewing Deck, the first Friends member event to be held on the deck since it officially opened in April.

Twenty-five attendees were able to enjoy a birds-eye view of the bison from the top deck (at 14 feet high) as they ate breakfast and listened to Nature Center Manager Rob Denkhaus discuss the bison and their historical and ecological importance to the region.

Before making their way up the ramp to the upper deck for the talk, guests stopped at the lower deck to pick up a hot breakfast from the buffet. Following the talk, they were given special pellets to feed the bison from the decks and along the fence.

This event sold out in less than an hour, so if you weren’t able to obtain a reservation, the Friends will be offering two more Breakfast with the Bison member events later this fall. Stay tuned for details!
